I’m back with another list of AI Tool Reviews you need to try. I will keep adding to this list each month. These are in order of most-recently tested, meaning the tools I’ve used the longest and still endorse are at the bottom.
Captions AI Clip Generator
I tested this tool to see how it fared against Capcut’s new AI editing tool. You simply choose from editing styles and then let the AI review the video you provided and edit it for you. It’s certainly basic since it’s new, but it has potential! Once you can embed your branding with the AI, it will be worth the $25 cost. For those without strict branding needs, being able to crank out these basic videos quickly might be worth it to you now.
Key Features:
- Automated Video Editing: AI Edit analyzes your video footage and automatically adds custom graphics, zooms, music, sound effects, transitions, and motion backgrounds at the appropriate times. This feature allows for a fully edited video to be created with minimal manual input, significantly reducing editing time.
- User-Friendly Interface: The tool is designed to be easy to use, allowing users to upload their raw footage, select from various editing styles (such as Impact, Cinematic, and Paper), and let the AI handle the rest. This removes the need for complicated editing software, making high-quality video creation accessible to everyone.
Shortwave – AI Email Assistant
This AI email intergeneration helps more than just marketers. Anyone who wants to better organize their email and stay on top of their outbound communications better will like this tool. My favorite feature is the “summarize” button, which reads my emails and gives me a summary. It can take super long emails and quickly summarize the key points then let you forward that (if needed) to the next stakeholder. Very cool!
Key Features:
- AI-Powered Summaries: Shortwave provides instant, one-sentence summaries at the top of each email or thread, helping users quickly grasp the key points without reading the entire content. This feature is particularly useful for managing high volumes of emails.
- AI-Generated Meeting Invites: Shortwave can automatically generate and suggest calendar invitations, making scheduling meetings more efficient
- Advanced Search and AI Autocomplete: Shortwave offers powerful search capabilities and AI-powered autocomplete for composing emails, making the writing process faster and more efficient
AI Tool Reviews: June 2024
This space is moving so fast so I am doing a monthly round up of the best AI tools I’m testing and sharing my thoughts. The goal is to help you make better decisions regarding which AI tool(s) you use since they all have different specialties and associated costs.
Here are three tools that get my stamp of approval in June:
ClickUp (with ClickUp brAIn subscription)
ClickUp is a comprehensive project management and execution tool that integrates with every other tool out there. It serves as a main hub for all your operational, marketing and CRM type needs. The ClickUp brAIn subscription enhances the platform with AI-powered features to further streamline workflows and I believe it’s one of the best AI marketing tools out there. It is a 10/10 in my book.
Main Features:
- AI-Powered Task Management: Automatically prioritize tasks and suggest next steps.
- Smart Notifications: Receive intelligent alerts based on task urgency and importance.
- Automated Time Tracking: AI tracks time spent on tasks without manual input.
- Predictive Text and Auto-Completion: Speeds up writing and task descriptions.
- Advanced Reporting: AI-generated insights and reports on team performance and project progress.
Why It’s Worth Your Time:
Setting up ClickUp with the brAIn subscription will significantly boost productivity by automating routine tasks and ensuring that important deadlines are never missed.
- It removes the need for email, slack and all your other communication hubs.
- It takes the place of your content scheduler and report generators.
- It can be customized to do literally anything you need, no matter your industry and professional role.
This makes it an invaluable tool for teams looking to optimize their workflow and enhance collaboration.
Certainly the most well known of all AI tools is ChatGPT. The paid subscription for ChatGPT 4o offers an advanced conversational AI developed to assist with a wide range of tasks, from answering questions to generating content and providing recommendations. Of all the tools it has the most basic dashboard and capabilities – she replies to your questions just like Siri and Alexa but she creates much more sophisticated replies.
Main Features:
- Natural Language Processing: Understands and responds to complex queries.
- Content Generation: Creates articles, reports, and other written content.
- Language Translation: Translates text between multiple languages.
- Personalized Recommendations: Offers tailored advice based on user input.
- 24/7 Availability: Always available to assist with tasks and queries.
Why It’s Worth Your Time:
I named my ChatGPT “Magnolia” after the flowering trees I saw while enjoying the U.S. Open in Pinehurst a few weeks ago.
Throughout the trip, I asked her countless questions from where to find nature trails nearby to where to get the best tacos. I also asked her to help me finesse a new brand I’m brainstorming.
I like ChatGPT but I use her more like Siri; I prefer ClickUp for professional needs. Knowing that Siri, Alexa, ChatGPT are all essentially the same thing I will likely use Siri for my day-to-day questions and stick with ClickUp for my paid subscription in terms of AI use for business.
Flot.ai for a Virtual Assistant
Flot.ai is an AI-driven virtual assistant designed to help manage daily tasks, schedule appointments, and provide reminders, enhancing productivity and organization. I think the UX is a bit complicated if I’m being honest!
Main Features:
- AI Memory: Enables you to save “to memory” creating a custom resource for you to access as it grows.
- Task Management: Keeps track of to-do lists and deadlines.
- Scheduling: Manages calendar events and appointments.
- Voice Commands: Operates through voice input for hands-free use.
- Integration with Other Apps: Syncs with email, calendar, and other productivity tools.
Why It’s Worth Your Time:
Flot.ai can streamline your daily routine by handling administrative tasks, ensuring you stay organized and on top of your schedule. Its seamless integration with other tools and voice command functionality make it a convenient and efficient assistant for both personal and professional use.
Of all the AI tool reviews I’ve done, I think Flot.ai is the best option to people who want to replace a physical planner. I don’t think it’s good for business uses but I think it’s a great option for general usage. I’d recommend ClickUp over Flot.ai if you need something for your life and business.
Conclusion
REMEMBER: Since each AI tool is stand-alone, the idea is to find one or two that really work well for you and train it to your standards. Downloading every hot app will just take up too much time and undermine the point of AI – it needs a lot of input to learn from you
I will keep testing these tools and letting you know which ones are worth your time and money.
Embracing this new tech has exponentially improved my productivity and enhanced the quality of my deliverables. For as far back as we can remember, the saying has been something like, “Pick two: speed, quality, cost efficiency”.
AI tools are enabling those of us who already produce quality products the ability to do so faster without sacrificing that quality. It’s very exciting!
